Aces Systems and TEC are proud to be a part of restoring history with DOC the B-29 warbird. Our onboard VIMS system will provide balancing solutions and add real time vibration monitoring which will help prolong DOC’s lifespan. It will be sent through Starlink to a cloud service. This will allow monitoring in flight by the flight engineer, but also from a ground station. Donnie, their maintenance manager, will have the ability to monitor vibrations from anywhere while Doc is on the tour circuit. We use on the edge sensors that compute and send digital data that currently is advanced technology not widely used in health monitoring systems. The other big addition this will provide in the future is the ability to trend data and provide predictive maintenance before failures, reducing downtime and saving money. The system will be expanded in the coming years as we develop new technologies, giving us a test bed for real life fight testing and life cycle information.
